An all-day video screening as part of programming for Glimmers: Currents of Illuminations features artists glimmering in critical brilliance.

Glimmers: Currents of Illuminations is a circuit program of performances, panel discussion, and video screening spotlighting Latine and LatAm contemporary art practices during Chicago’s art fair week. Curated by Xavier Robles Armas and organized by Chuquimarca, Glimmers converges voices from Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago to culminate a weekend that presents performance and video art practices of today.

Glimmers kicks off on the afternoon of Saturday, April 11 at Mana Contemporary with a performance by artist Camila Arévalo and panel discussion with scholar Yelaine Rodriguez. Saturday’s evening event will be at The California Clipper featuring performances by Sebastian Hernandez and Ále ‘Celeste’ Campos.

Glimmers concludes on Sunday, April 12 at ACRE Projects with a video screening from 12 - 6pm. This program highlights work by Angel Lartigue, Marcos Serafim, Koyoltzintli, Angelina Ruiz, Jesús Hilario-Reyes, Victoria Martinez, Roxana Barba, and Isaac Vazquez.

This program coincides with open hours for ACRE Project’s current exhibition Low Resolution: Can’t See You featuring Hunter Whitaker-Morrow and Johan Samboní, curated by Inés Arango-Guingue.
