Workshops for White People

A training series in support of the movement for black lives with Make Yourself Uselful

We know there is a lot going on in the world right now (as always) and it's easy to feel overwhelmed or not know how best to plug in. In our ongoing effort to be useful in the fight for racial justice, MYU is hosting a series of free virtual workshops starting Tuesday June 9, in partnership with ACRE. This workshop series provides tools for people with white privilege who want to dismantle white supremacy. Learn tactical strategies to transform your beliefs into action, and effectively support urgent Black-led movements for liberation.

RSVP via Eventbrite here, and you will receive a password to join the Zoom for tomorrow's workshop. We'll also be sharing the slides and video later for those who can't join (there is a limit on capacity.)

We also wanted to send a thank you to everyone who contributed to our May fundraisers for National Bail Out Day and the Prison + Neighborhood Arts Project.

About MYU

Make Yourself Useful is a network of people committed to actively fortifying POC-led racial justice movements in Chicago and beyond. As people working to earn the chance to be accomplices in these struggles, we are dedicated to lovingly holding each other and ourselves accountable in our quest to unlearn racism and confront white supremacy. We are also a mobilization body concentrated on the development of concrete ways to move up and move back, standing in direct and available solidarity with Black and Brown organizers. We are committed to making ourselves useful to the revolution for racial justice.
