Screen Printing

Staffed by a knowledgeable screen printer, beginner, intermediate, and ambitious projects can be made possible.

ACRE’s printing studio offers free access to all equipment necessary to create silkscreen prints on campus. Our dark room, exposure unit, hinged printing tables, silkscreens of various sizes lends itself to a unique DIY print making experience. We encourage all experienced and determined printmakers to plan specialty or large order projects prior to their visit, ordering inks and papers to help ensure project completion.

The studio provides select paper, inks, emulsions, transparencies, and other supplies free to any resident that wishes to have a hands on introduction to screen-printing processes. There is access to scanners, computers and printers in other areas of campus to assist in capturing and editing images to work with.

With the emphasis on the unique natural environment at ACRE, the print space is also an efficient area to work with life outside. Alternative printmaking practices are a popular choice for our residents, with ACRE often hosting an introductory demos on cyanotypes, natural dying, and found object relief printing.
