55 artists from across the country converge in the Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin to pursue emerging practices as part of ACRE's summer residency program.
Chicago, IL, June 22, 2022— Artists' Cooperative Residency & Exhibitions (ACRE), an artist-run non-profit that provides emerging artists with an accessible, equitable, and interdisciplinary residency and exhibitions program, is excited to announce the 55 artists attending this year's summer Residency Program.
ACRE's 13th residency season, beginning June 27, welcomes the this exciting new cohort of artists to make, think, and create in community at the residency site in Steuben, WI. Residents will have access to materials, equipment, expertise, conscientiously produced food, and opportunities to share and exhibit work.
ACRE also welcomes McKnight Artist Fellows Brad Menninga, Drew Peterson, and Jacob Lindberg to the residency, supported by Artist Communities Alliance’s (ACA) McKnight Artist Residencies Consortium. This partnership between ACA and the McKnight Foundation supports residency program partners in developing fair and just policies, and provides McKnight Artist Fellows with residency opportunities at partner programs. This consortium aims to support the development of residency environments where any artist can thrive.
Alumni of the program will also return to ACRE to serve as volunteer staff. These artists lead the residency studio areas, offer tutorials and workshops, mentor, collaborate, and shape the ACRE experience for residents.
